3D Generalist
Upcoming Cooking GameWe’re a small indie team so I’m specifically looking for someone who is comfortable working across different areas of 3D rather than specializing in only one thing.
The game has a stylized, colorful art direction and the work would include things like:
- Stylized characters and customers
- Character rigging and skinning
- Simple gameplay animations
- Food, kitchen equipment and general props
- Modular restaurant/environment assets
- Texturing and materials
- Preparing and optimizing assets for Unity
You definitely don’t need to be a senior artist or an expert in every single one of these areas. What matters most to me is that you have a solid general 3D foundation, can adapt to an established art direction and are comfortable taking an asset through most of the pipeline.
Experience with Blender is preferred and familiarity with Unity or preparing game ready assets for Unity is a big plus.
This would initially be paid freelance/contract work starting with a small paid test project to make sure we work well together and that the art style is a good fit. If things go well there would be plenty more 3D work available as development continues.
If you’re interested send me a message with:
- Your portfolio
- A little about your experience
- What parts of the 3D pipeline you’re most/least comfortable with
- Your usual hourly rate or preferred way of pricing work
- Any examples of stylized game ready characters, environments or props you’ve worked on
Feel free to reach out even if you’re earlier in your career. I care a lot more about the quality of your work, versatility and ability to learn than having years of studio experience.
