3D Artist
Creators of a Cop GameWe are looking for a 3D Artist to join our small, fully remote team, working on our successful 1980s-inspired police action sandbox
This is a generalist role with a primary focus on environment and world-building. You’ll be creating grounded, believable urban spaces – everything from modular building kits to street-level detail – helping bring our neon-noir city to life.
Responsibilities
- Create realistic environment assets, with a focus on buildings and urban spaces
- Build modular kits and contribute to cohesive city districts
- Build convincing and atmospheric urban environments from blockout to final
- Own assets from blockout through to final implementationÂ
- Maintain consistent visual quality, scale, and style across the game
- Work closely with the team to iterate quickly based on feedback
- Manage your own workload while contributing to a collaborative, remote team
Requirements
- A strong portfolio of original work
- Experience with Maya, Blender, or 3ds Max, plus Substance Painter and Photoshop
- Comfortable working in Unity (or able to learn quickly)
- Strong understanding of realistic proportions, materials, and lighting fundamentals
- Ability to create grounded, believable wear and detail (avoiding exaggerated stylisation)
- Good communication skills (written and verbal, in English)
- Able to self-organise and work effectively in a fully remote environment
Desirable
- Experience with Unity workflows
- Experience building modular environment systems
- Familiarity with console performance constraints and optimisation
- Experience modelling vehicles or characters
- Experience with version control (e.g. Subversion, Git, or Perforce)
- Previous work on a shipped title (not required)
About You
You’re comfortable working in a small team where everyone wears multiple hats. You take ownership of your work, manage your time effectively, and communicate clearly with others.
You care about the small details that make environments feel believable, and you’re happy working in an iterative pipeline – getting assets in-game quickly, refining them over time, and balancing quality with efficiency. You can judge the appropriate level of detail that is required on assets that are used in a top-down game.
You’re able to source reference from the real world and movies / TV shows, but able to balance this against expectations and game design considerations.
You seek and take feedback well, and you’re not afraid to offer your own opinions too.
Details
- Location: Fully remote (UK-based)
- Contract: 12 month contract, with potential to extend
- Start: ASAP
- Salary: Competitive (based on experience)
Portfolio
Please include a portfolio showcasing your strongest 3D work. We’re particularly interested in environment-focused work that demonstrates scale, modularity, and real-world believability. Clearly indicate any pieces that involved collaboration or the use of AI tools.
Why Join Us?
- Work on a released and successful indie title, not a speculative project
- Be part of a small, experienced team where your work has real impact
- Help shape the future of The Precinct and our next projects
- Fully remote, flexible working environmentÂ
