Your Day-To-Day

  • Model and texture modular environment kits using reference material and concept art
  • Model and texture buildings and dressing props for use in the world
  • Participate and engage in creative sessions with the team
  • Ensuring that your work follows the given art direction, and conform to the required technical specifications
  • Ability to set dress areas with stories and believability
  • Document art processes and establish a good working practice
  • Collaborate and communicate daily and weekly during review sessions and meetings together with the art team
  • Playtest the game with the team to see how the world assets are being implemented

What You'll Need

  • Good understanding of a 3D package such as Max/Maya/Blender or ZBrush
  • Solid texturing skills in both Photoshop and Substance Painter
  • Sound knowledge of PBR workflows in Substance Painter/Designer, Quixel Mixer or similar
  • Experience of integration of assets in current-generation game engines (e.g. UE4/UE5 or similar)
  • A portfolio demonstrating your work in prop and environment modelling and texturing techniques, both high and low poly
  • A flair for story telling in your work either through set dressing or the objects history
  • Open and collaborative communication skills both verbal and written
  • A passion and hunger to make the best games and a thirst to grow your own skills

The Interview Process

The interview process for the Junior Environment Artist role is made up of 3 stages:

  • Briefing call with TA (20 minutes) – A quick call with one of our members of the TA team who will gain an understanding of your current situation, run over the opportunity and answer any initial questions
  • First interview (60 minutes) – A meeting with our Executive Producer and Director of Art. This will be a technical interview to assess your ability, plus providing you an overview of how you will support the HLL project
  • Final Interview (45 minutes) – A final meeting with our Head of Art to assess team fit and understand your future aspirations.
