We are building an ambitious and exciting new stand-alone, independent studio dedicated to the further development and on-going support of Hell Let Loose.

Hell Let Loose is a realistic, captivating, cooperative FPS game set in the throes of WWII available on PC, Xbox X|S, and PlayStation 5. With over 6 million players already, this is just the start for usโ€ฆ

Your Day-To-Day

  • Model and texture modular environment kits using reference material and concept art
  • Model hard-surface and organic hero props for use in the world
  • Encourage creativity and participation from all team members
  • Responsible for ensuring that assets follow the given art direction, are within the agreed production deadlines and conform to the required technical specifications
  • Participate in feedback and planning sessions with the art team
  • Support the sharing and documentation of best practices for art creation in collaboration with key stakeholders across departments
  • Assist in the validation and optimisation of assets
  • Ability to set dress areas with stories and believability
  • Document art processes and establish a good working practice
  • Collaborate and communicate daily and weekly during review sessions and meetings
  • Keep up to date with the latest environment art trends and techniques
  • Playtest the game with the team to see how the world assets are being implemented and to give general feedback on the game

What You'll Need

  • Good proficiency in all aspects of 3D packages such as Max/Maya/Modo or ZBrush
  • Excellent texturing skills in both Photoshop and Substance Painter
  • Thorough knowledge of PBR workflows in Substance Painter/Designer, Quixel Mixer or similar
  • Experience using current-generation game engines (e.g. UE4/UE5 or similar)
  • A portfolio demonstrating AAA prop and environment modelling and texturing techniques, both high and low poly
  • An understanding of realtime and baked lighting solutions
  • Good proven record of world and set dressing
  • Open and collaborative communication skills both verbal and written
  • Proven ability to keep Leads and Creative Directors informed of progress and developments
  • At least 2 yearsโ€™ industry experience in a similar position
  • A passion and hunger to make the best games

The Interview Process

The interview process for the Environmental Artist role is made up of 3 stages:

  • Stage 1 (15 minutes) โ€“ A quick chat with one of the TA team to run over brief experience and an overview of the role, along with answering any initial questions you have.
  • Stage 2 (60 minutes) โ€“ A technical interview to understand more specifics around your experience in relation to the role.
  • Stage 3 (45 minutes) โ€“ A final meeting with another senior member of the team to run over your future aspirations along with answering any questions you may have about the role or company.
