Full time

3D Artist

Feb 10

We are building a team not only for The Last Whale Singer project but for growing the future of Telescope Game Studios. You would be the first artist joining our team, to define the art direction and work on creating assets as well, so you’re going to be given a chance to really shape the visual identity of everything we put out.

You don’t need to be able to do everything, but what you can do needs to be enough, so we can shape games around it. Whether you’re a slick graphic designer, a character animator, a masterful illustrator or a shader wizard, we can rely on you to create a coherent, impressive look for our games with the help of a few freelancers.

If you feel like you’ve got what it takes to shape a visual identity and want to take that chance with us, we want to hear from you!

Your tasks

  • Lead the team in establishing the desired look for the game
  • Create 3D Assets and/or 3D models for characters, environment and UI
  • Work with the film animation department and other freelancers to implement external assets and animations into our project
  • Optimize textures and geometry effectively within the project’s technical and artistic constraints
  • Communicate effectively with the team and external freelancers for time-frames and potential pitfalls

Your qualifications:

  • EU citizenship or EU work permit
  • 1 - 3+ years experience in the industry
  • Proven, high expertise in at least one of the following areas: Graphic Design, 2D Art, 3D Art, Animation, Shader Programming
  • Comfortable with stylised visuals
  • Passion for games and animation
  • Fluent in English

Bonus Points:

  • Experience in UE5 art & animation tools and integration
  • Any experience in the other fields of Graphic Design, 2D Art, 3D Art, Animation, Shader Programming
  • Experience in lighting
  • Know the basics of using version control
  • Capable of creating concept art

What we offer:

  • Salary Range, according to qualifications: €36.000 - €42.000, (including government-funded health, dental & vision insurance)
  • 25 vacation days per year
  • Included Job Public Transport Ticket (live in Berlin, work in Brandenburg)
  • On-site work studio culture with flexible work-from-home days
  • Unreal Engine training through Epic Games
  • A small, highly creative and driven team, which means you can really make an impact on the direction this ship takes, as well as on our future projects
  • We highly cherish passion, but we value work-life balance and an ego-free environment even more, and are convinced that these factors have a hugely positive effect on health, happiness, the collaborative spirit and productivity
  • An LGBTQIA+ friendly company and inclusive team in which all employees are valued
  • Lots of opportunities for interdisciplinary exchange through our Unreal Pipeline which enables us to exchange assets, animations and more with our Animation Studios
  • Opportunities to look behind the curtain of the film animation industry and possibly grow into it in the future

If you can see yourself working with us, please don’t hesitate to apply, even if you don’t fit all the requirements! We want to work with diverse personalities, not checklists.
