Art Generalist
WE'RE LOOKING FOR AN ART GENERALIST / TECH ARTIST (D/F/M) TO JOIN OUR INDIE GAME STUDIO IN BERLIN AREA (FULL-TIME, FROM 04/2023).
We are building a team not only for The Last Whale Singer project but for growing the future of Telescope Game Studios. You would be the first artist joining our team, to define the art direction and work on creating assets as well, so you’re going to be given a chance to really shape the visual identity of everything we put out.
You don’t need to be able to do everything, but what you can do needs to be enough, so we can shape games around it. Whether you’re a slick graphic designer, a character animator, a masterful illustrator or a shader wizard, we can rely on you to create a coherent, impressive look for our games with the help of a few freelancers.

Your tasks
- Lead the team in establishing the desired look for the game
- Create 3D Assets and/or 3D models for characters, environment and UI
- Work with the film animation department and other freelancers to implement external assets and animations into our project
- Optimize textures and geometry effectively within the project’s technical and artistic constraints
- Communicate effectively with the team and external freelancers for time-frames and potential pitfalls
Your qualifications:
- EU citizenship or EU work permit
- 1 - 3+ years experience in the industry
- Proven, high expertise in at least one of the following areas: Graphic Design, 2D Art, 3D Art, Animation, Shader Programming
- Comfortable with stylised visuals
- Passion for games and animation
- Fluent in English
Bonus Points:
- Experience in UE5 art & animation tools and integration
- Any experience in the other fields of Graphic Design, 2D Art, 3D Art, Animation, Shader Programming
- Experience in lighting
- Know the basics of using version control
- Capable of creating concept art

- Salary Range, according to qualifications: €36.000 - €42.000, (including government-funded health, dental & vision insurance)
