Super! As our new Lighting Artist, you’ll work together with our multi-discipline art team to set the visual style of the lighting in the game, aligned with our art direction.
Oh, and we are a hybrid first studio
- Work from our office in Södermalm, Stockholm? Great, if that suits you!
- Work remotely from anywhere in Sweden? By all means.
- Work some days at the office and some days remote? Sounds good.
We are well on our way with our current title ALARA Prime, which was revealed (pre-alpha) just this July!
We want a true artist to join our ranks. An individual who loves creating game worlds and who especially likes to use lighting and colors to influence players' emotions and gameplay.
Connected to production, you have the ability to find solutions to lighting problems, at more complex levels, together with your team and understand the importance of collaboration between crafts, to create a great game.
You're someone who knows the ins and outs of engines (we're using Unreal Engine in this project) and tools and is able to keep up a high level of quality while also being aware of artistic and technical constraints.
Your player profile
Perhaps you are currently working at another studio or maybe you have a strong desire to join the industry, either way, we want you to be a humble and open person, passionate about gaming.
We believe that you truly enjoy collaborating with people from different crafts to understand what tools and systems are needed to create an epic gaming experience. And of course, to come up with and develop those solutions together with your delightful team.
- At least 3 years of professional experience illuminating worlds in games
- Artistic feel and skill-set in fundamentals such as composition, color theory, materials, and design
- Worked on and/or shipped PC or console titles as a Lighting Artist
- Knowledge of how to create run-time lighting and shaders in Unreal Engine
- Experience with baked lighting in Unreal Engine

What about relocation?
If you're an EU citizen authorized to work in Sweden, we're all for it!
We handle relocations on a case-by-case basis but will be able to assist with the most important part, which is finding a home for you. Unfortunately, we don't have the capability to offer work-permit solutions for non-EU citizens at the moment, something we hope to be able to provide as we grow in the future.
