It was the 9th of June 2018. A man by the name of SergeantSmokie uploads a mysterious trailer on Reddit for a game called Predecessor. Some might recognise the assets, made freely available on UE. This was the promise of not just Paragon 2.0, but something more.

Soon after the trailer, Fringe joins the ranks as voted by the community, and before we know it, Omeda is born.

Fast forward to 27th of January 2020. RGSACE gracefully accepts the helm of this studio. A popular streamer on the Paragon field, with his financial prowess he secures the funding ($2.2M Seed, and more recently $20M Series A) that Omeda needs to take off and thrive. Since then, Omeda has steadily grown an international team with a clear vision: Bring Predecessor to life.

And here's where you come in! We need an experienced Lead Artist like you to champion the Art discipline.

This Lead Artist will manage a team of multidisciplined Artists. You will be self-organised and be able to juggle mentoring/managing the team, assisting with the grading of the teamโ€™s output, and building your own 3D assets to go into the game, if you still enjoy being hands-on!

The ideal candidate will enjoy working on a variety of art assets including characters, hard surface, and environments. The more generalist you are, the better! If you are more specialist, weโ€™d still be interested in hearing from you.

In This Role You Will

  • Help to build and grow the Art Team with the help of HR and studio leadership
  • Liaise with the discipline leads and production to understand the work needed
  • Lead the art team: schedule meetings, create, prioritise and assign tasks, follow up on progress, foster a healthy feedback culture, and critique work when needed
  • Flesh out realistic, engaging visuals from briefs created by the Design team
  • Encourage and maintain best practices in the art pipeline, and review work accordingly, to keep the art optimised and ensure the best rendering performance, as well as maintaining a high-quality bar and visual fidelity

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience developing AA+ pc/console games in various stages of the development lifecycle in a leadership position
  • Excellent knowledge of 3D packages used for creating game art (Maya/Max/Zbrush etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills as a leader and mentor
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating your art experience
  • Team player, who is not afraid to help wherever needed

Nice to Have:

  • A genuine passion for video games (MOBAs are a plus)
  • Experience shipping on Unreal Engine 4+
