This job is no longer accepting applications.

Hello there! We're D-CELL GAMES, a fully-work from home studio currently seeking experienced 2D character animators

This is a long-term part-time remote position focused on 2D character and action animation - there's a lot to do, so we're staffing up on an as-needed basis!

This specific position is focused on cinematic animation (as opposed to gameplay animation). We're looking for animators comfortable working with (and carefully breaking away from) storyboards, with a keen eye for timing, posing, and acting. Great drawing ability is a must, as is the ability to stay on model (although we're not a huge stickler for that! Personality is great.)

If hired, expect a new shot assignment upon completion of every previous for the foreseeable; again, there's a lot of animation to finish.

By the way: if you're very good at 2D animation for games, specifically, and might be a bit more uncomfortable trying to do full-frame cinematic animation from storyboards.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • You'll be taking layouts and storyboards and turning them into fully completed final line animation (not necessarily including final color or compositing*). We work in Clip Studio Paint, so prior knowledge of how to animate with that is a major bonus here. We'll be providing keys if you don't already have them, and equipment assistance is absolutely a possibility for the right hires.
  • You'll be answering to our dedicated Animation Producer, checking in with them to go over your dailies and getting feedback as you refine your shots (and then get new work as needed).
  • You'll be more focused on quality of work than deadlines. We have deadlines to hit and we do need to hit them, but the most important thing is your work - and you!
  • That said the producers want me to absolutely emphasize that hitting hard deadlines is still part of your job responsibilities, so here's a bullet point for that.
  • You'll be making these shots your own, so as we get to know you and what you like animating (and what you're best at animating) you can expect us to give you work more tailored to you over the course of working on the project.

** if you can color your shots, though, that IS a bonus*
