Concept Artist (Object) - The Sims

In this role you will be part of the Project Rene team building out the next generation game and creative platform. Project Rene is a Mobile + HD cross-platform that allows players to play The Sims alone or with friends, without barriers, for the first time ever. Explore the dramatic lives of your Sims in the most accessible, dynamic Simulation to date. Players can create characters, customize furniture, design apartments, and more using accessible tools. You will be reporting to the Senior Art Director.
Location: Remote North America - open to most North America locations
As a Concept Artist II with Maxis, you will be a creative collaborator, who has a combination of traditional digital art skills, a sense for visual storytelling, and impeccable design skills. You will exercise your understanding of current trends and past styles, reinterpret them in a fresh and aesthetically pleasing manner. You will be working closely with the Art Directors and Art Team.
Responsibilities:
- Provide stylized look development for interior objects and furniture, and architecture
- Material exploration for objects and environmental elements
- Lighting and time of day exploration for interiors and exteriors
- LOD exploration and look development for Mobile environments
- Rough sketches for objects and environments
- Help visuals through sketches, paint overs, illustration and storyboards
- Pattern and decal creation
- VFX look development
- XD visual support
Qualifications:
- Include a portfolio link demonstrating your expertise ideating and designing unique and visually appealing furniture, environments, layouts, and architecture
- Active solution provider with collaboration skills
- Illustration skills including good use of line, light, shape, shadow, and color
- Think 3-Dimensionally and modular construction breakdowns
- Work within specific styles, including style set by another artist or art director.
- Art painting skills
- 3+ years of experience with asset creation from start to finish
- 3+ years of experience creating concept images and spec sheets that call out all relevant information for modelers, texture artists, animators, and VFX artists

US COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these states. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location.

Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.
BASE SALARY RANGES
• California (depending on location e.g. Los Angeles vs. Sacramento):
º $95,450 - $141,800
• New York (depending on location e.g. Manhattan vs. Buffalo):
º $89,200 - $141,800
• Jersey City, NJ:
º $105,250 - $141,800
• Colorado (depending on location e.g. Denver vs. Colorado Springs):
º $89,200 - $118,550
• Washington (depending on location e.g. Seattle vs. Spokane):
º $89,200 - $130,750
Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
